Meet Our Staff

 

Occupational Therapist


Sue Golubock, M.Ed., OTR/L

Susan received her Master of Education in Special Education Technology, summa cum laude from George Mason University.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, magna cum laude from Western Michigan University.

Sue, who was diagnosed with Asperger's in her 50's, has worked over 33 years as an occupational therapist.  Her primary area of focus has been on the impact of sensory processing differences on performance in the school setting.  She has spent the last 8 years focusing almost entirely on the needs of students on the autism spectrum.

Today, Susan works as a private contractor, providing services to children and adults with sensory processing differences.  In addition, Susan is known as a local and national speaker with the goal of bridging the gap of understanding that occurs between those who process sensory experiences differently.

Kristen Otto, OTR/L

Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, cum laude from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.  Kristen received her Sensory Integration Certification in April 2001 and is currently a Level 1 Hippotherapist.

Some of Kristen's experience includes working for Easter Seals of Arizona, Banner Medical Center as well as providing direct supervision to COTA's at Baio.  Kristen working with Susan Golubock has developed a set of Core Exercise Routines for Persons on the Autism Spectrum (C.E.R.P.A.S.).  These group classes are offered at Baio.

                                 

Speech Therapist

Jennifer Casey, M.S., CCC-SLP

Jennifer received both her Master of Science in Speech Pathology as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology-Auditory from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Jennifer's specialized training and expertise includes, crisis intervention, behavior management, communication books, PECS, developing home programs, and augmentative communication.        

Mary Hurst, M.S., CCC-SLP

Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech & Hearing Science from Arizona State University and her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northern Arizona University.

Mary has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including, but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, and Language Delay.  Her experience has come from several therapeutic environments including, but not limited to hospitals, elementary schools, university clinics, and private practices.  

Staci Neustadt, M.S., CCC-SLP

Staci received her Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Arizona State University and her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorder from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Staci has worked with children that have various disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome.  Staci's specialized skills including working with Alternative Augmentative Communication such as devices, PECs, and communication boards.

Cathy Ryan, M.S., CCC-SLP

Cathy received her Master of Science in Speech Pathology and her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Eastern New Mexico University-Portales.

Cathy has 15 years of experience treating communication disorders in children of all ages.  Cathy has had extensive training in the field of Behavioral Feeding Disorders. Currently Cathy's focus is on treating children demonstrating food refusal and/or diagnosed with a Behavioral Feeding Disorder.

Amanda Woods, M.S., CF-SLP

Amanda received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Wyoming and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Eastern Washington University.

 

Amanda has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, Articulation/Phonology Disorders, and Language Delays. Her experience comes from many environments including preschools, public schools, university clinics, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities.

 

Habilitation Communication

Helena Ruiz

Helena currently attends the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education at ASU and is majoring in Special Education. Helena has been working with kids as a Habilitation and Respite provider for over 3 ½ years. Helena has experience in American Sign Language and has also tutored individuals with their ASL needs or using ASL during sessions to communication with clients. Helena also works with Desert Springs Church as a Sunday school teacher for their Safe Harbor classroom which consists of children with special needs.
